HOUSE OF COMMONS

Dear Mr Pearson

Thank you for your recent letter concerning the Child Support Agency.

You raise some interesting ideas in your letter, which I have passed on to Paul Goodman, the Conservative Shadow Minister with responsibility specifically for looking at the CSA and how it works. We are continually looking for ways to improve the way the system works and will take your views into account.

We regularly monitor the CSA and aim to hold the Government to account for the failings of the system and the difficulties facing those people who are relying on it to work effectively and fairly.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

Yours sincerely,

Dictated by, and signed in his absence.
Sir Malcolm Rifkind MP
Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions
